# Cart checkoutChargeAmount returns amount before the discounts

As of version 2024-04 the Storefront API field `Cart.cartCost.checkoutChargeAmount` will now return an estimated amount before taxes and discounts. In previous versions `Cart.cartCost.checkoutChargeAmount` was incorrectly returning the discounted cost.
