# Polaris CDN 1.1 release candidate

### New components

* [`EmptyState`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/feedback-and-status-indicators/empty-state). For empty lists, tables, and pages. Inside a `TableBody` it renders as a full-width message beneath the table headers.
* [`Number`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/typography-and-content/number). Inline numeric text with tabular figures, so columns of numbers line up.

### New properties

* **`fontSize` on [`Heading`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/typography-and-content/heading), [`Paragraph`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/typography-and-content/paragraph), and [`Text`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/typography-and-content/text).** Sets the text size directly.
* **`visibleMonths` on [`DatePicker`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/forms/date-picker).** Show one month, two months, or let the picker decide. Accepts `auto`, `1`, or `2`.
* **`supplementalStart` on [`Page`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/layout-and-structure/page).** Content placed before the main page content.

### Bug fixes

* **Overlays.** The `show`, `hide`, `aftershow`, `afterhide`, and `aftertoggle` events no longer bubble, matching `toggle`. Listen on the overlay itself, or use the matching `on*` properties. Also fixed overlays closing when a drag ends outside them.
* [**`Page`**](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/layout-and-structure/page). Fixed header alignment and spacing, long heading truncation, print layout, and horizontal overflow on narrow screens.
* [**`Modal`**](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/overlays/modal). Fixed unintended dismissal when a click or drag crosses the modal edge, focus return, heading overflow, and behavior after a modal is moved in the page. Buttons now take their `variant` from the slot they sit in, and any `variant` you set yourself still wins.

Fixed overflow scrolling, positioning, resizing after open, delayed hiding in Safari, and Escape closing an enclosing modal.
* [**`Tooltip`**](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/typography-and-content/tooltip). Fixed positioning, off-center first render, inherited text color, and an error in browsers with partial Popover API support.
* [**`DatePicker`**](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/forms/date-picker). Fixed weekday headings and screen reader announcements across locales. Setting the same `value` back onto the picker, which controlled React components do after a selection, no longer fires a second `input` and `change` event, so `onChange` runs once instead of twice. The picker expands to fill the available width by default.
* [**`Select`**](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/forms/select). Fixed an empty value showing before the options parse.
* [**`NumberField`**](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/forms/number-field). Fixed the default `max`. Now accepts scientific notation.
* [**`TextArea`**](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/forms/text-area). Fixed label alignment and keyboard shortcuts.
* [**`DateField`**](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/forms/date-field). Fixed calendar dismissal in Safari. Now sizes like every other field.
* [**`ColorPicker`**](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/forms/color-picker). Fixed single-click selection.
* **All fields.** Fields with `autocomplete="off"` now also tell password managers to skip them.

### Deprecated

* **`fontVariantNumeric` on [`Text`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/typography-and-content/text) and [`Paragraph`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/typography-and-content/paragraph)** still works, however we recommend using the new [`Number`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/app-home/v1.1-rc/web-components/typography-and-content/number) component instead.
