# Hydrogen developer preview update: October 2, 2026

The Hydrogen developer preview adds new capabilities to the toolkit and extends the ways developers can build Shopify storefronts:

* **API version 2026-10:** Hydrogen now uses the 2026-10 versions of the Storefront API and Customer Account API.
* **Customer Accounts in the React Router template:** New projects come with sign-in and order history, and local HTTPS registers the Customer Account URLs for you.
* **Consent-aware analytics destinations:** Every analytics destination waits for consent, then receives the events that happened before it was registered, so nothing is lost while the shopper decides.
