# Prepare your app for migration to Shopify App Pricing

New migration tool lets you generate, edit, and test Shopify App Pricing plans from existing Billing API plans, validate usage pricing, and prepare for upcoming subscription migration.

Developers using the Billing API can now begin preparing their apps to move to Shopify App Pricing. The first part of our migration tool lets you generate, review, edit, and test Shopify App Pricing plans before moving any existing merchant subscriptions. This gives you time to confirm that your pricing configuration is ready while your app continues using its current billing setup.

Shopify App Pricing provides a standardized pricing experience across the Shopify App Store, plan selection, subscription management, and merchant billing.

## Generate your App Pricing plans

In the **Pricing Details** of your app's listing in [Partner Dashboard](https://partners.shopify.com/organizations) click **manage**. You'll see the migration tool above your list of plans. The tool automatically creates App Pricing draft plans from your eligible manual plans. Plans that are missing App Pricing required fields, like usage charges, are marked with an **Action needed** badge.

## Review and test your configuration

After your public and private plans are drafted, you can:

1. Review the generated plan names prices, features, and billing intervals.
2. Edit plans or create additional plans as needed.
3. Configure usage charges and app events for usage-based pricing.
4. Test the plans on a development store owned by the same Partner organization as your app.
5. Review your plans using the readiness checklist

Preparing plans in the tool doesn't migrate your existing shops or subscriptions. Merchants don't need to take action during this stage. This release is the first part of the manual billing migration tool.
