# Use `cart.deliveryGroups.groupType` in Function APIs to determine the type of delivery group

With the 2025-07 version release of the Function APIs, you can now use the `cart.deliveryGroups.groupType` to determine the type of delivery group. The `groupType` field indicates whether the delivery is a one-time purchase (`ONE_TIME_PURCHASE`) or part of a recurring subscription (`SUBSCRIPTION`).

Delivery groups streamline fulfillment by organizing items that can be shipped together, based on the customer's shipping address. For example, if a customer orders a t-shirt and a pair of shoes that can be shipped together, then the items are included in the same delivery group.
