# Gift​Card​Product​Variant​Set​Input

The input fields for specifying a gift card product variant to create or update with the [`giftCardProductSet`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/admin-graphql/latest/mutations/giftCardProductSet) mutation.

Include an [`id`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/admin-graphql/latest/input-objects/GiftCardProductSetVariantInput#field-GiftCardProductSetVariantInput.fields.id) to update an existing variant, or omit it to create a new one. Gift card variant defaults are applied automatically, meaning variants are set to non-taxable, don't require shipping, and their inventory is untracked.

## Fields

* barcodes

  [\[Barcode​Input!\]](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/admin-graphql/latest/input-objects/BarcodeInput)

  The barcodes to associate with the product variant. Replaces the entire barcode set. A variant accepts up to 20 barcodes, and a given variant input can't set both `barcode` and `barcodes`. Refer to the [`ProductVariantBarcode`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/admin-graphql/latest/objects/ProductVariantBarcode) object for how these barcodes are returned.

* file

  [File​Set​Input](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/admin-graphql/latest/input-objects/FileSetInput)

  The file to associate with the variant.

  Complexity cost: 0.6 per variant file.

  Any file specified here must also be specified in the `files` input for the product.

* id

  Specifies the product variant to update or create a new variant if absent.

* metafields

* position

  The order of the product variant in the list of product variants. The first position in the list is 1.

  The price of the variant.

* published

  [Boolean](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/admin-graphql/latest/scalars/Boolean)

  Indicates whether the product variant is created as published or unpublished. This option is only available for new product variants.

* sku

  The SKU for the variant. Case-sensitive string.

  The input fields for creating or updating a gift card product with the [`giftCardProductSet`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/admin-graphql/latest/mutations/giftCardProductSet) mutation.

  For list fields like [`variants`](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/admin-graphql/latest/mutations/giftCardProductSet#arguments-input.fields.variants), the mutation creates new entries, updates existing ones, and deletes any entries not included in the input. All other fields update only when explicitly provided, leaving omitted fields unchanged.
