# Buy Button carts now support automatic discounts

We’ve added support for [automatic discounts](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/discount-codes/automatic-discounts) to Buy Button carts, which has been enabled by default in the latest version of [Buy Button JS](https://github.com/Shopify/buy-button-js).

### Who is affected by this change?

Buy Button JS users, and [Buy Button sales channel](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-online/buy-button) users

### How do I prepare for this change?

It is recommended that you check your cart’s appearance with automatic discounts while upgrading to the latest version of Buy Button JS, especially if customizations have been made to the cart. We’ve also exposed new configuration options to allow full customization of discounts in the cart. This is available now.

### What happens if I do nothing?

You may not be impacted by this change if you are not using automatic discounts. If you are, there might be unexpected behaviour in the cart.
