# New error codes added for metafield capabilities

As of API version 2024-01, we've added the `CAPABILITY_VIOLATION` error code to the `MetafieldsSetUserErrorCode` enum. This error code is returned if you attempt to update a metafield in a way that doesn't conform to the enabled capabilities.
