# Apps can now manage access settings for merchant metafield definitions

Effective immediately, apps can manage the `storefront` and `customerAccount` access settings for metafield definitions in the merchant namespace. The only acceptable value for `admin` access remains `PUBLIC_READ_WRITE` for non app-reserved definitions.
