# Transactions

Balance Transactions make up the canonical "statement of account", or
ledger for a Shopify Payments account. Every single movement of money in
or out of the account is recorded here.

## Resource Properties

### Transactions

* id: The unique identifier of the transaction.
  * Type: x-string
  * Example: 54534554564
* type:          The type of the balance transaction. The value will be one of the following:
         <ul>
           <li>charge</li>
           <li>refund</li>
           <li>dispute</li>
           <li>reserve</li>
           <li>adjustment</li>
           <li>credit</li>
           <li>debit</li>
           <li>payout</li>
           <li>payout_failure</li>
           <li>payout_cancellation</li>
         </ul>

  * Type: x-string
  * Example: "credit"
* test: If the transaction was created for a test mode Order or payment.
  * Type: x-string
  * Example: false
* payout_id: The id of the payout the transaction was paid out in.
  * Type: x-string
  * Example: 1234
* payout_status: The status of the payout the transaction was paid out in, or `pending`
if the transaction has not yet been included in a payout.

  * Type: x-string
  * Example: "scheduled"
* currency: The ISO 4217 currency code of the transaction.
  * Type: string
  * Example: "USD"
* amount: The gross amount of the transaction, in a decimal formatted string.
  * Type: x-string
  * Example: "102.53"
* fee: The total amount of fees deducted from the transaction amount.

  * Example: "3.07"
* net: The net amount of the transaction.

  * Example: "102.53"
* source_id: The id of the resource leading to the transaction.

* source_order_id: The id of the Order that this transaction ultimately originated from.

* processed_at: The time the transaction was processed.

* adjustment_order_transactions: <p>
An array of associated order transactions that resulted in this balance transaction. If the source_type is not an adjustment, the value will be null.
Each array object includes the following properties:
  <ul>
    <li><strong>id</strong>: Order transaction id.</li>
    <li><strong>amount</strong>: Amount that is adjusted in this order transaction.</li>
    <li>
      <strong>order</strong>: The order details for the order transaction. This includes:
      <ul>
          <li><strong>id</strong>: Order id.</li>
          <li><strong>name</strong>: Order name.</li>
      </ul>
    </li>
  </ul>

* adjustment_reason: The reason for the adjustment that is associated with the transaction.
If the source_type is not an adjustment, the value will be null.

## Return a list of all balance transactions

Retrieves a list of all balance transactions ordered by processing
time, with the most recent being first.
<strong>Note:</strong> This endpoint implements pagination by using links that are provided in the response header. To learn more, refer to <a href='/api/usage/pagination-rest'>Make paginated requests to the REST Admin API</a>.

* last_id: Filter response to transactions exclusively before the specified ID
* payout_id: Filter response to transactions paid out in the specified payout.
* payout_status: Filter response to transactions with the specified payout status
* since_id: Filter response to transactions exclusively after the specified ID.
* test: Filter response to transactions placed in test mode.
