The inventory_adjustment_history schema captures event-level inventory adjustments. It's the best source for tracing how an inventory quantity changed, who or what initiated it, and which reference document explains the change.

Anchor to inventory_adjustment_change inventory_adjustment_change: The net quantity added or removed by inventory adjustments. Positive values increase inventory, and negative values reduce inventory.

Anchor to inventory_adjustment_group_id inventory_adjustment_group_id: The Shopify identifier for a set of related inventory adjustments.

Anchor to inventory_app_name inventory_app_name: Name of the inventory app that made the adjustment
Anchor to inventory_change_reason inventory_change_reason: The reason specified for the inventory adjustment, such as Correction, Restock, Manual Adjustment, or Transfer Received.
Anchor to inventory_group_id inventory_group_id: Grouping of inventory items based on where they physically reside
Anchor to inventory_item_id inventory_item_id: The Shopify identifier for the inventory item that was adjusted. Use inventory_item_id to track changes for a specific item or compare adjusted items across locations.
Anchor to inventory_state inventory_state: The affected stock category, such as Available, Committed, Reserved, or Incoming. Committed means inventory allocated to confirmed orders that haven't been fulfilled.
Anchor to minute minute: The minute when inventory quantities were adjusted.
Anchor to month month: The calendar month when inventory quantities were adjusted.
Anchor to month_of_year month_of_year: The month of the year an inventory adjustment was made, with values 1 through 12.
Anchor to product_variant_id product_variant_id: The Shopify identifier for the product variant whose inventory was adjusted. Use product_variant_id with product_variant_title or product_variant_sku to show variant titles or SKUs.
Anchor to quarter quarter: The calendar quarter when inventory quantities were adjusted.
Anchor to reference_document_id reference_document_id: The Shopify identifier for the resource named by reference_document_uri. This value is present when reference_document_uri points to a Shopify resource.
Anchor to reference_document_type reference_document_type: The kind of Shopify resource named by reference_document_uri. This value is present when reference_document_uri points to a Shopify resource.
Anchor to reference_document_uri reference_document_uri: The freeform reference that explains why the inventory change happened. The value might come from Shopify or an external tool.
Anchor to second second: The second when inventory quantities were adjusted.
Anchor to shop_id shop_id: The unique Shopify identifier for your store. Use shop_id with shop_name to show readable store labels.
Anchor to staff_id staff_id: The Shopify identifier for the staff member who made the inventory adjustment. Use staff_id with staff_member_name to show readable staff labels.
Anchor to week week: The week when inventory quantities were adjusted.
Anchor to week_of_year week_of_year: The week of the year an inventory adjustment was made, with values 1 through 53.
Anchor to year year: The calendar year when inventory quantities were adjusted.

A date value truncated to day precision.

DAY_OF_WEEK

A day within a week, used for weekday-based grouping and filtering.

HOUR_TIMESTAMP

A timestamp truncated to hour precision.

HOUR_OF_DAY

An hour within a day, typically represented as an integer from 0 to 23.

IDENTITY

A unique identifier for a Shopify resource such as a customer, product, or order.

STRING

A sequence of characters representing text data.

MINUTE_TIMESTAMP

A timestamp truncated to minute precision.

MONTH_TIMESTAMP

A date value representing the start of a month.

MONTH_OF_YEAR

A month number within a year.

QUARTER_TIMESTAMP

A date value representing the start of a fiscal quarter.

A timestamp truncated to second precision.
